Emmerdale's Rishi star Bhasker Patel sends message to 'gutted' fans after surprise death exit

Emmerdale star Bhasker Patel has sent a message to 'gutted' fans after they were left with their jaws on the floor following his shock exit. Viewers of the ITV soap have felt sorry for Rishi Sharma in recent weeks as he was rejected by his son, Jai, after he discovered he wasn't his biological father.

The news came out as Jai and his partner Laurel Thomas decided to get engaged and when looking for his divorce papers to be able to get the ball rolling on a wedding as soon as possible, he was horrified to also find his adoption papers, confirming the dad he has known his whole life wasn't actually his dad.

Jai has on numerous occasions railed at Rishi for lying to him but after the arrival of Jai's mum, Georgia, back in the village, things went from bad to worse. Jai told his mum to leave before he later spotted her talking to Rishi, overhearing an emotional Rishi ask his ex-wife if she had told Jai 'the truth'.

Jai was on his way to make amends with Rishi but his remarks proved to him that both his parents are hiding something. And things went from bad to worse when Laurel came out of the house when she heard raised voices. As she tried to calm Jai down, he said that he’d always been honest with his kids and tried to do what was right by them. And that’s when Rishi cruelly replied: "So you think it’s right to take a life?"

And there wasn't much time before the wedding to make amends as the truth about Jai's paternity came spilling out, with Rishi eventually blurting out that Jai's father is actually his uncle after Georgia had a fling with Rishi's brother before Rishi did what he thought was the honourable thing and married
