Emmerdale 'reveals' Ruby's dad's secret in sinister twist as fans left sickened

Emmerdale seems to have revealed a secret that Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) is keeping about her estranged father, Anthony (Nicholas Day).

This month, Ruby and Caleb (William Ash) were left speechless when their daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) unexpectedly arrived, over a decade since they last saw her.

Not long after, Anthony made an appearance, with it being evident that there's a complex history between him and Ruby, who insists she wants nothing to do with him. Viewers are already aware that Anthony and Helen (Sharon Maughan), Ruby's mother, disowned Ruby when she became pregnant.

However, Ruby has another significant secret concerning her parents. Despite Steph's pleas for Ruby to reconcile with her terminally ill father, Ruby remains adamant about not wanting any involvement with him.

In the episode aired on December 4, things took a distressing turn. Ruby was once again confronted by her father as Caleb and Steph tried to persuade her to make amends.

The family's attempts to reminisce about the past visibly unsettled Ruby. Overwhelmed, Ruby hastily left, claiming she needed to go shopping despite having already done so, reports Leeds Live. Once outside, she suffered a panic attack, while Anthony's voiceover could be heard apologising for his previous errors.

Viewers are speculating that Anthony could have abused Ruby, but others suggest it might have been a family friend or her mother. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer commented: "After watching today's episode, Ruby's father definitely abused her as a child."

Another person added: "I think it's a friend of her dad's that abused Ruby but he didn't believe her! " A third wrote: "Or watched someone else abusing her, either way it's gross."
