Emmerdale dog Piper's fate 'confirmed' by soap after Tom King's attack - and it's bad news

The fate of Emmerdale's beloved canine Piper has been revealed, leaving fans heartbroken.

Viewers will remember how Tom King (James Chase) has been manipulating and mentally tormenting his wife Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) for an extended period. However, Belle recently found the strength to end their marriage.

Despite their separation, Tom has been attempting to win her back with numerous grand gestures. Unbeknownst to Belle, Tom has covertly installed cameras in her home, monitoring her every move.

In Friday's episode (August 16), the villainous Tom stooped to new depths when he attacked Belle's cherished dog Piper. The confrontation occurred at the Woolpack during Sam's (James Hooton) birthday celebration.

Belle stood firm, informing Tom that she would rather he didn't join her family's festivities, which infuriated him. He seized her wrists and began to threaten her, reports the Express.

Suddenly, Belle lashed out, demanding that he leave immediately - a demand overheard by the rest of the Dingle family. A humiliated Tom hastily departed, but the situation soon took a distressing turn.

Later, Tom arrived at Wishing Well Cottage and spotted the innocent Piper. In a disturbing scene, he deliberately drove his car towards the dog.

In the concluding scenes of the episode, a panicked Tom was seen hurrying back to the village with Piper swaddled in a blanket, feigning concern for the dog he had just hit with his car. Exiting the pub, Belle noticed Tom, who vowed to do everything possible to help Piper.

This distressing scene has left viewers deeply concerned about Piper's wellbeing. However, things don't appear promising for the much-loved canine.
