Emma Raducanu next match: Big opportunity in busy October

Emma Raducanu will compete in three WTA Tour events this month as she looks to break into the top 50 once again.

The Brit recently suffered a huge drop in ranking points after she was knocked out of the US Open in the first round by France’s Alizé Cornet.

After failing to defend her title in New York, the 19-year-old must now prove she can play the long game and work her way back up the rankings.

Raducanu’s first tournament of the month will be the Agel Open in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Raducanu reached the quarter-finals in the 2021 Transylvania Open, where she lost to Marta Kostyuk and was snubbed of the chance to play Romanian idol Simona Halep in the semis.

Raducanu will round off her October by competing in the final WTA 1000 event of the year, the Guadalajara Open.

The Brit was given a wildcard entry for the Mexican tournament, which gets underway on October 17th.

She has also been confirmed for an exhibition singles match against Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in December.
