Elliot Embleton reflects on Sunderland’s play-off final victory as he shares message with supporters
Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has taken to Instagram to share a message with the club’s supporters after helping his side secure promotion to the Championship last weekend.
Embleton was selected to start in the club’s play-off final showdown with Wycombe Wanderers by manager Alex Neil and went on to produce a positive display at Wembley Stadium.

Following the break, Anthony Patterson produced a smart stop to deny Sam Vokes from scoring an equaliser for the Chairboys.
Ross Stewart then doubled Sunderland’s advantage after being teed up by Alex Pritchard.
With Wycombe unable to deliver a response to Stewart’s strike, the Black Cats sealed a return to the second-tier.
Embleton will be hoping to feature regularly for Sunderland at this level next season after showing some real signs of promise during the closing stages of the season.
Reflecting on his side’s play-off triumph on Instagram, the midfielder admitted that it was a special day for everyone associated with the club.
Embleton posted: “What a way to end the season!
“A special day for everyone at the club @sunderlandafcofficial.”
