Elie Youan clapback sparks fiery exchange with Hibs hero after French star's troll backfires

Elie Youan's cheeky attempt to troll Marin Bartley off the back of his recent comments about the Hibs star have backfired after the Easter Road hero hit back with a seething takedown.

Youan has cheekily responded to criticism from the after collecting the man of the match award in Hibs' epic 3-3 draw with Aberdeen on Tuesday night. David Gray's side looked to be on the end of another disappointing defeat as the Dons fought back from a goal down to hold a 2-1 lead going into six minutes of added time in the second half, only for the teams to exchange three goals in a manic finale to come away with a share of the spoils.

French winger Youan was not on the scoresheet at Easter Road, but was crowned as the best player on the night for a dazzling display down the Hibees left. And the 25-year-old used the opportunity to hit back at comments made by former Hibs midfielder Bartley during the Leith side's 4-1 loss to Dundee last Saturday.

Working on Premier Sports' live coverage of the game, Bartley slated Youan's reaction to teammate Jordan Obita being shown a red card, with the ex Nantes youngster gathering the ball to perform a series of keepy-ups and tricks while boss Gray tried to reorganise his team after they were reduced to 10 men. Bartley - a Scottish Cup winner with Hibs in 2016 - described Youan's actions as 'embarrassing' and 'not unacceptable', also questioning the Frenchman's desire to dig in and fight for his team.

But after helping Hibs claim a dramatic point, Youan offered a quirky response to the slagging, posting an image of himself on Instagram with his man of the match award on and tagged Bartley along with the caption: "It's not acceptable @bartley06, MOTM".
