Elden Ring: Data miner discovers dropped NPC quest

Elden Ring is one of the biggest and most ambitious games ever made and, as a result, is widely seen as one of the very best games ever made as well.

The PS5 version of the game has a gigantic 96 score on Metacritic and has been widely lauded by critics and fans alike.

It is a huge game that can take hundreds of hours to fully complete, with there being a number of optional and story-driven bosses that you’ll be fighting in the Lands Between.

However, a new report from PC Gamer now confirms that From Software actually had to cut some content out of the game.

That may seem remarkable at first glance given just how big Elden Ring is, and how stuffed with things to do it is, but it certainly seems to be the case.

PC Gamer has revealed that Lance McDonald, the long-time Souls data-miner, has discovered a cut NPC questline.

To do so, he has had a look at the Elden Ring build that was sent out to reviewers and YouTubers in November 2021 for a network test.

In that build, the Stormhill Shack was empty, which was changed in the final game. In the final build of the game, the shack is where you meet Roderika, an important NPC who can give you spirit ashes and who eventually teleports to the Roundtable Hold.

However, there was initially a different NPC who was meant to live in the shack, by the name of Monk Jigo.

And it also appears that Monk Jigo would have given you a questline to potentially follow, should you so wish.

Jigo appears to be a drunk, as he has been “seduced by the good lady alcohol”, and he wants you to find him some Dreambrew. Dreambrew is another liquor that has magical properties.
