Eimear Considine counting on new system to revitalise Ireland in Women's Six Nations

Eimear Considine is confident Ireland's "new system" will get the best out of the squad during the upcoming Tik Tok Women's Six Nations campaign.

The Irish side open the tournament against Wales at the RDS on Saturday (kick-off 4.45pm) as they look to bounce back from the heartbreak of missing the next Rugby World Cup.

There is a new head coach in Greg McWilliams and a new name occupying the captaincy in Nichola Fryday.

Versatile back Considine was in an optimisic frame of mind when she spoke to RTÉ Sport this week.

"It's so exciting to be playing in another Six Nations again. There's a lot of new changes, a lot of new faces and a whole new system," she said.

"We are absolutely excited to get the ball rolling on Saturday against Wales in the RDS."

Considine expanded on what the new system entails and the attributes it is likely to uncover.

"It's just playing with a lot of energy and everyone's an option. It's allowing the players that we have to show off their skills, to show off the talents that they have. I'm really excited for us to really go out there and implement it.

"If we do and focus on ourselves and focus on what we're about, there's no doubt that we'll break down that Welsh defence at the weekend."

Adding that Ireland will be targeting maximum points in the three home games against Wales, Scotland and Italy, Considine offered one recommendation for the new additions to the squad, with three new caps set to debut on Saturday.

"Any advice is to enjoy it. We play the sport for fun. We're professional in how we act but at the end of the day we play this game for fun," she said.

"You don't get a second chance at a first cap so go out there and show (what you can do).

"We've seen the girls training here week in week out, we've
