Edu told it will cost £58.5m to complete 12-month Arsenal transfer scouting mission this summer

Arsenal have reportedly been told how much they will have to pay to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez. The Gunners were heavily linked with a move for the Argentine international last summer before he eventually penned a new long-term contract at the San Siro.

However, since then Mikel Arteta's side have allowed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Barcelona, whilst both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are also into the final four months of their respective contracts at the Emirates Stadium, meaning they may need to sign two centre-forwards at the end of the current campaign.

Now, Italian outlet Calciomercato have claimed that if any club was to offer €70million (£58.5million) this summer then Inter would likely allow Martinez to leave, with Arsenal and Atletico Madrid reportedly the two clubs who are most interested. The report also claims that the north London outfit have talked to the player's agent.

also understands that Arsenal are tracking Benfica forward Darwin Nunez ahead of a potential summer move. The Uruguayan international has enjoyed an extremely productive 2021/22 campaign, notching 26 goals across all competitions - a hugely impressive record for a 22-year-old.

The club's technical director Edu has been in contact with the player's representatives and has shortlisted the former Almeria star as a potential summer signing. Tammy Abraham, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Alexander Isak and Jonathan David are all admired by certain figures within the club and revealed back in January that Edu had met with the agent of Canadian international David, who has established himself as one of Ligue 1's best strikers in recent months.
