Edinson Cavani showed his class by making a young Manchester United fan’s day outside Old Trafford following Monday night’s 3-0 win over Brentford.

The Uruguayan striker came on for the final 15 minutes in what is expected to be his final appearance at the Theatre of Dreams.

Cavani’s contract expires this summer and the 35-year-old is expected to follow the likes of Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard out of the club at the end of the season.

Cavani scored 17 goals in 39 games during his debut campaign and immediately endeared himself to United supporters thanks to his exemplary work ethic.

It’s been a difficult second season for the South American, who has only managed to net two goals in 18 games and has recently struggled with injuries, but that hasn’t tarnished his reputation in the eyes of his biggest fan.

In wholesome footage uploaded to social media by Alison Bender, one young lady got the opportunity to meet her hero following Monday night’s match.

The video shows a young girl called Lola giving Cavani a big hug and pleading with the veteran striker to stay at Man Utd.

A caption on the video says that Lola was “so scared to meet her idol in case he wouldn’t live up to her expectations”.

But Cavani showed his class by making Lola’s dreams come true, even agreeing to her request of wearing one of her hair bands.
