Eden Hazard had 'offer from Scotland' as Rangers transfer rumour ramps up only to suffer rejection
Eden Hazard had an "interesting proposal" on the table from from an unnamed SPFL club, it has emerged.
Belgium superstar Hazard is a free agent after leaving Real Madrid and there had been online chat over a potential jaw-dropping move to Rangers. The box office transfer that took Aaron Ramsey to Ibrox last January had some fans hoping there was an outside chance.
But whether those rumours were right or not, it appears Hazard is ready to hang up his boots – despite seeing offers from SIX countries roll in. And it has been reported in Spain by Diario AS, one of those proposals for the 32-year-old was a concrete one from Scotland. They say teams from the United States, Saudi Arabia, England, Spain, France AND the SPFL all made their interest known, but every approach so far has been rejected by the 2015 Premier League player of the Year.
It's claimed he "does not have the energy" to keep going after his mega move to Real Madrid proved to be a disaster. And he's considering a shock retirement. Inter Miami are so far the only team named by the report but David Beckham's team received a "swift no" over a move that would have teamed him up with Lionel Messi in MLS.
