Eddie Hearn confesses he might need a Deontay Wilder knockout to deck his old rival Frank Warren

Leading promoter Eddie Hearn has admitted he might need old rival Deontay Wilder to flatten Zhilei Zhang and earn him bragging rights in Saudi Arabia.

The Matchroom supremo will battle Frank Warren in a hotly-anticipated 5 vs 5 night of boxing action. The Queensberry promoter will duke it out with Hearn with both teams facing off in quintet of boxing belters. Hearn has recruited the services of hard-hitting former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder for the stellar bill, naming him as his team captain.

That means the winner of the showdown with Zhang will earn their respective side double points, and Hearn concedes he may need the "Bronze Bomber" to come up with a devastating performance to see him get one over on rival Warren. Asked by ifL TV if he believes the outcome of the tournament may come down to the heavyweight dust-up, he replied: "Maybe. Deontay Wilder looks unbelievable right now.

"We could be in a situ where I may need him to win by knockout to win the tournament, or if we have it sewn up and he gets beat, we lose. I cannot wait and you are going to see an amazing event in Riyadh."
