Ebbsfleet United manager Dennis Kutrieb reacts to 2-0 home National League win over Wealdstone

Ebbsfleet boss Dennis Kutrieb admitted “everything came together” during their much-needed win over Wealdstone on Saturday.

A first-half Ouss Cisse plus Dominic Poleon’s second-half penalty led the Fleet to a 2-0 victory at Stonebridge Road.

It was a disciplined display by the home side, who let Wealdstone enjoy plenty of possession without really hurting them.

“It feels great, obviously, as we haven’t had a clean sheet and a win for a while,” said Kutrieb.

“Everything came together, we defended our box, especially at the end when they bombarded it with cross after cross.

“We didn’t dominate all the stats but it didn’t matter because of the position we are in. We need to make sure we find ways to win games and I think this was a good win.

“It was disciplined and desperate from a defensive point of view and that’s what we have to put our focus on.

“We will always score our goals, like we scored, and I was angry at half-time because we had one great counter where we have to score a goal. We need to be ruthless, we can’t afford to (waste) chances.

“We got a penalty finally and we scored it. I’m proud of the boys because they left everything out on the pitch.”

Kutrieb admitted his players might not enjoy playing that way, but he was pleased that they put the team ahead of any individual glory.

“Sometimes as a player you think you can’t accept it, we want to have the ball and keep it, we can’t just sit and wait,” added the Fleet boss.

“I know how they feel and they don’t like it but it doesn’t matter what they like at the moment. The only thing what matters is we need to stop conceding goals.

“We were disciplined and no-one was trying to do anything individually or something special. We need to understand we need to do it
