Ebbsfleet manager Dennis Kutrieb waits to find out the extent of Tobi Adebayo-Rowling's knee injury

Ebbsfleet manager Dennis Kutrieb hopes no news is good news as far as Tobi Adebayo-Rowling is concerned.

The Fleet are still waiting to find out whether their influential right wing-back has been ruled out for the rest of the season or not.

Adebayo-Rowling came off injured against his former club Eastbourne over a fortnight ago and was on crutches at Stonebridge Road watching his team-mates defeat Oxford City last weekend.

Fleet are still waiting for the final verdict on his knee injury but Kutrieb took some comfort from it not being an ACL injury – which would have ruled him out into next season.

“We don’t know at the moment,” said the Fleet boss on Saturday. “I don’t like to talk too much about what might happen as it can go quicker or longer than we first expect.

“We saw with Rakish Bingham, we thought after the Dorking game that his season might be over because we had an opinion that said ‘season over’ but our players are fit and if the injury is healer and getting better then he might be back quicker.

“We just watch week by week, maybe we will see him towards the end of the season. It’s not ACL but there is some damage there and maybe it will be six weeks or a bit longer.”

Fleet lost Alex Finney to injury at half-time against Oxford but the game saw both Rakish Bingham and Joe Martin make their first appearances for a number of weeks.

Midfielder Alfie Egan has started running after a knee injury at Cray Wanderers in the Kent Senior Cup and Greg Cundle is next in line to return.

“Alfie has started running slowly but it’s a tough one,” added Kutrieb. “I can’t say if he will be back in one week, two weeks, three weeks.
