Ebbsfleet defender Sido Jombati banned for three games after FA charge following New Year's Day loss at Dartford

Defender Sido Jombati will complete a three-match retrospective ban from Ebbsfleet’s New Year’s Day defeat at Dartford this weekend.

The centre-back was charged by the FA with a breach of rule E3.1. Jombati admitted the charge and was handed a three-game ban.

Footage emerged on social media after the game showing an off the ball incident involving Jombati and Dartford striker Alex Wall.

The charge said: “It is alleged that in or around the 20th minute of the fixture, as evidenced in the video clip, Mr Jombati’s behaviour constitutes violent conduct.”

Ebbsfleet boss Dennis Kutrieb confirmed the suspension, which has seen Jombati sit out the home wins over Concord and Havant. Jombati will also miss this Saturday’s trip to Bath in National League South.

“He's banned for three games so he will be back for Chippenham,” said Kutrieb. “It’s ridiculous. I don’t want to talk too much about it.

“But it’s ridiculous if the referee can’t see a red card that they charge us later.

“When you see Alex Wall for example, who needs to get a red card every single game, maybe three times, and didn’t get anything. But it is what it is.

“We’ll get on with it, we’ve got good players in the squad. Luckily we don’t have too many injuries, it would be a big blow if we had a lot of injuries as well, but it’s just one more game and then he’s back.

“Luke O’Neill is doing a great job but he can’t play at this intensity for nine games in four weeks so at times we will rest him and Sido will come back in.”

Ebbsfleet also hope to welcome back Joe Martin from injury so Kutrieb will be able to rotate his defensive options.

He added: “Joe Martin is not far away, it maybe Bath or Chippenham but we’ll take it day by day as we don’t want to rush it too much.
