easyJet plane suddenly diverts to Manchester Airport after 'emergency' alert issued mid-flight
An easyJet flight suddenly diverted to Manchester Airport on Thursday afternoon (September 7) after reports of an 'emergency' alert being issued while in the air.
The EZY3057 flight, from Belfast International to the Greek island of Corfu, changed route over the Irish Sea and circled near Liverpool before landing in Manchester.
The flight, that was due to depart from Belfast at 2.10pm, eventually left the runway almost an hour later before it landed at Manchester at around 4pm.

The flight path, according to FlightRadar, shows how the aircraft circled over the Irish sea, close to Liverpool and north Wales, before eventually touching down in Manchester.
easyJet has since confirmed that the flight was forced to divert to Manchester after a member of cabin crew required 'urgent medical attention'. After landing, the flight then continued to Corfu after a replacement crew member was sourced.
In a statement, a spokesperson for easyJet confirmed "We can confirm that flight EZY3057 from Belfast to Corfu diverted to Manchester due to a cabin crew member requiring urgent medical attention.
"A replacement crew has been found and the flight is continuing to Corfu. We would like to thank passengers for their patience and understanding. The safety and wellbeing of our crew and passengers is always easyJet's highest priority."
