EastEnders star praised for move as Jeff Brazier in tears over son Bobby's NTAs win with nod to late mum Jade

EastEnders star Molly Rainford has been praised by National Television Awards viewers after she comforted a crying Jeff Brazier after his son picked up a gong. Molly's soap co-star Bobby Brazier took home the 'Rising Star' award after joining EastEnders last year as Freddie Slater.

The actor and model, who is weeks away from making his Strictly Come Dancing debut after signing up for the 21st series of the hit BBC One dance contest, couldn't believe he'd won the award as he credited his TV presenter dad on stage during his acceptance speech.

Over the course of the last twenty years, I have consistently heard him say 'because I can'. It was a mantra or a moto of his, and him just saying that it's... Because I can!"

@suzyglitter1 tweeted: "A lovely acceptance speech from Bobby Brazier. No doubt his mum would be very proud #NTAs." @geordiegalg said: "Could not be happier for Bobby Brazier. What an amazing young man he is, an absolute credit to his
