EastEnders legend's exit storyline 'exposed' 20 years after debut - and fans are gutted

EastEnders enthusiasts believe they have deciphered how Stacey Slater will exit the soap, following the announcement of actress Lacey Turner's pregnancy.

Lacey catapulted to stardom portraying Stacey on the BBC One soap, making her first appearance in 2004. It's safe to say she has since become one of the show's most cherished characters.

Throughout the years, Lacey has tackled some significant storylines as Stacey. From grappling with bipolar disorder to serving time in prison, Stacey's tenure in Walford has been anything but dull.

Moreover, it's fair to suggest that Stacey has experienced her share of romantic entanglements during her stint. She famously tied the knot with the much-loved Bradley Branning (Charlie Clements) in 2007, and who could overlook her memorable affair storyline with his father Max Branning (Jake Wood).

This year, she found herself embroiled in the gripping The Six storyline, which saw her and several other Walford women conceal the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) at Christmas. However, off-screen this week, actress Lacey Turner shared some exciting news with fans, reports the Daily Star.

On social media, Lacey announced that she is expecting. The soap star posted a charming photo of herself with husband Matt and their two children Dusty, five, and three year old Trilby, clutching a pregnancy scan. Devoted mother Lacey captioned the post: "Aren't we lucky..... @thekayoskids" accompanied by heart emojis.

But now, with news of Lacey's pregnancy causing a stir among fans, speculation abounds on how her character Stacey will be written out for the actress's maternity leave. Fans are flocking to social media, frustrated and predicting that Stacey might end up behind bars in a dramatic turn.
