East Kilbride wary of Albion Rovers as Kennedy aims to wrap up Lowland League title

Mick Kennedy admits East Kilbride's 3-1 humbling at home to Albion Rovers on Boxing Day means they are well aware tonight's potential title-clinching clash at Cliftonhill will be far from straightforward.

After last week's midweek clash at Civil Service Strollers was postponed, Kilby now have the chance to claim the point they need to be crowned Lowland League champions when they face Sandy Clark's side in Coatbridge.

A draw or a victory would also see Kilby qualify for the pyramid play-offs for a shot at promotion to SPFL League Two next season.

But Kennedy, whose side have four games to find the point they need, says his side are taking nothing for granted after their defeat in December.

"The last time we played, Albion Rovers won 3-1 so I think everyone is well aware about how difficult a challenge it will be for us," he insisted.

"Sandy Clark is obviously a very experienced coach and manager so he will have them very well organised.

"They will have a very clear game plan and that is what it was like against us at home, and they executed it to perfection, to be fair.

"It was probably the most we've dominated a game all season in terms of possession, but we ultimately lost the game.

"We just need to impose ourselves on the game as much as we can and hope to get the positive result we need.

"It was disappointing the [Strollers] game didn't go ahead last week and fingers crossed everything is okay this time."

Kick-off at Cliftonhill tonight is 7.45pm.
