East Kilbride Thistle boss signs two-year extension at Showpark
Aaron Connolly has penned a two-year contract extension at the Showpark after a strong first half of the season in West of Scotland Fourth Division at East Kilbride Thistle.
Following last season’s relegation, when he took charge midway through the campaign, Thistle have been free-scoring and entertaining in their push for promotion this term.
And the club have rewarded both he and assistant Mark Steele with new contracts until summer 2026.
Connolly said: “It is something we were approached about before Christmas and we are delighted.
“As tough as it has been, I’ve really enjoyed it. We’ve seen a real development in the players and a development in myself as a manager. I have learned more in the last 14 months than I did in 11 or 12 years playing football.
“Some of the things we are trying to do in terms of developing the wider club and our youth pathway have been great, so I was delighted to extend the contract for the next two years.”
Assistant Manager Mark Steele has also extended his contract. Mark said “Happy to commit to the club alongside the gaffer.
"The commitment and enthusiasm of the players, staff, committee and fans is infectious and makes it a great environment to work in.
“Hopefully we can continue on an upward trajectory, providing opportunities for talented young footballers to get a foot on the ladder.”
