Dyche ‘looking forward to next phase’ following ‘incredible’ Burnley spell

Sean Dyche is looking forward to the next step in his managerial career after releasing a statement following his sacking by Burnley last week.

Burnley took the decision to relieve Dyche of his duties after just four Premier League wins all season. The 50-year-old has spent nearly 10 years in east Lancashire.

The sacking came as a shock to many, with the Clarets still within touching distance of beating the drop, something that Dyche had done so often at Turf Moor.

Burnley have placed under-23 boss Mike Jackson in temporary charge as they try to find a permanent replacement. He oversaw a 1-1 draw at West Ham in his first game in charge.

Now, Dyche had provided his first statement since his departure, revealing how proud he was of his time at Turf Moor before thanking a number of people related to the club.

His statement on the League Managers Association website read: “I would like to thank the people of Burnley and fans of the club for their incredible kindness and support since I joined the club in 2012.

“The town has become a huge part of my life, and myself and my family thank you for everything we have all experienced together during my time as manager.

“Amongst the many challenges, there have been some truly incredible times, which are never to be forgotten.

“I would like to express my gratitude to all players and staff, past and present, for the hard work and commitment they have shown throughout my time at the club.

“The memories of promotion campaigns, European travels and competing against some of the best teams in the world will always stay with me.
