DWP and HMRC Easter benefit payment dates including Universal Credit, PIP and tax credits

Many benefit claimants across the country may see their benefit payments disrupted due to Easter bank holidays this month.

In the coming days we will have both Good Friday and Easter Monday, which may affect the date that some claimants receive their cash. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have confirmed alternative payment dates for certain claimants.

These dates have been adjusted to ensure that payments are sent out on days when Jobcentre Plus offices and phone lines are open and available. According to the DWP, payments such as Universal Credit, State Pensions, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) which are due on Friday, April 7 or Monday, April 10, will instead be paid on Thursday, April 6.
