Dwayne Johnson: WWE's WrestleMania 39 plans for The Rock & Ronda Rousey have been leaked

The plans that WWE has for WrestleMania 39 for Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Ronda Rousey have now emerged.

Every WrestleMania is a big show, but it seems like WrestleMania 39 in April 2023 is going to be the one that WWE really puts all of its effort into.

Of course, WrestleMania 39 is 14 months away now, but we are beginning to hear about the matches that WWE is hoping to put on at the show.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has now reported on what some of those plans are, and unsurprisingly, several huge names are involved.

WWE is booking Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 38 in April, and this is because the plan is for Rousey to face Becky Lynch in a highly-anticipated singles match at WrestleMania 39.

Meltzer also notes that the plan for the Hollywood show, as fans have been calling out for, is for Roman Reigns to face Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

The idea for next year’s event at SoFi Stadium is to have Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson vs. Roman Reigns and Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch as its two big showcase matches.

The Rousey vs. Lynch match will be easier to book and far less likely to change, as both Ronda and Becky are under contract with WWE through April 2023.

The Rock vs. Roman Reigns taking place very much depends on Dwayne Johnson’s movie schedule, but planning for several months in advance would ensure he’s able to make the show.

As for when The Rock returns to TV, some have speculated that it could take place at some stage in 2022, but others think it’s more likely that he comes back to set up the match in 2023.

As noted, these plans are likely to change drastically over the next few months, so make sure you stay tuned to GiveMeSport.
