Dutch GP: Lewis Hamilton's livid team radio outburst as Mercedes cost him

Lewis Hamilton is yet to go a full season in his Formula One career without a win during a full season, but time is running out this season after Mercedes struggled to adapt to the new regulations at the start of the season, forcing them to play catch-up.

After some controversy involving Yuki Tsunoda meant Max Verstappen didn’t have to overtake the Brit on track, another later Safety Car then handed the advantage back to Hamilton for Mercedes’ first race win of the season, but the team hampered him big time.

First of all, they put George Russell on the soft tyres, meaning he had no protection to Verstappen on the race restart, effectively gifting the home favourite the win, consigning the Brit to have to settle for a podium.

However, after being one of the only drivers on the medium compound instead of the fastest, softs, Russell then got the overtake on Hamilton and so did Charles Leclerc.

As you can imagine, Hamilton was absolutely fuming with what unfolded after he looked in a great position to get the win and ultimately missed out on a podium, finishing fourth.

So it was no surprise to see Hamilton on the team radio making his feelings known to the team. First of all he said: “That was the biggest **** up.”

Safe to say that Lewis Hamilton is NOT happy with his team's strategy calls for the restart
