Dutch GP: Lando Norris looking for McLaren bounce back at Zandvoort

McLaren driver Lando Norris says he has full faith in his team that they can bounce back and respond in the fight with Alpine for fourth place in the Constructors’.

The summer break came to an end last weekend as F1 returned with the Belgian Grand Prix but McLaren might have a part of them wishing it hadn’t come back so soon, with them unable to score any points at Spa-Francorchamps.

Indeed, that was then compounded by Alpine scoring a nice haul of points as Fernando Alonso finished 5th and Esteban Ocon finished 7th, meaning the Enstone team now very much has the initiative in the battle for fourth.

There’s plenty of time for McLaren to turn it around, though, and that’s what they’ll be aiming for this weekend at Zandvoort, as F1 heads back to the Dutch seaside.

Speaking ahead of the weekend, Norris revealed he’s looking forward to the event, and hoping that the fight is going to be a bit closer than it was at Spa:

“Zandvoort, let’s go! I really enjoy driving the circuit and I’ve had some decent results there coming through the junior catagories. The undulation and turns make it feel like a rollercoaster ride so I’m excited to get out there and give it all we’ve got. It also always has an incredible atmosphere and I like to think that most of the orange is there to support McLaren…

“Last weekend made it clear that we’ve still got a lot of work to do to keep in the fight with the Alpines. I have full faith in the team and know we will do everything we can to push through and be as prepared as we can to keep battling. The next two races are key so let’s keep focused and keep up the hard work.”
