Dustin Poirier lashes out at Michael Chandler as feud continues

UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier has hit back at Michael Chandler as their strange feud continues to build momentum.

The 155-pound division in the UFC is as stacked as it’s perhaps ever been and that isn’t an understatement. Every single fight in the top 15 is just about guaranteed to be a banger, and that’s especially true when you head further up the rankings.

Two men who are known for the excitement they produce inside the Octagon, Dustin Poirier and Michael Chandler, have had a few things to say about one another in the weeks since UFC 274.

Chandler noted that he ‘forgot’ about Poirier as a potential opponent due to his lack of drawing power, as well as because he felt like ‘The Diamond’ disregarded him when he came into the UFC.

Now, Poirier has had the chance to retort following an appearance on The MMA Hour.

“You think the guy [Chandler] forgot about me? The route to the title shot? I’m number one [Oliveira as de-facto champion]. Yeah, and who’s a draw? Bro, I’m not that guy to pick on people and do this and stuff like that, but if we go to the numbers which don’t lie, you were supporting cast in the last pay-per-view you fought on.”

“Look at the numbers. What did we sell, six something? What did they sell, over four hundred? I mean, who’s a draw, I don’t know, I don’t really play that s*** because I don’t care, but don’t say something you can find out the numbers [for].”

“He’s never beaten anybody coming off a win in the UFC, Ariel! He’s been dropped in his last three fights. What are Dan Hooker’s last five fights and what are Tony Ferguson’s last five fights, the two guys he beat in the UFC? I’m not talking trash, I’m stating facts. It’s whatever. I’ll fight him too, I don’t care, just book me a fight.”
