Dusan Vlahovic transfer sparks Fiorentina fury as president painted as a clown for selling to Juventus and not Arsenal

Fuming Fiorentina fans have hung a banner depicting their president as a clown on the iconic Ponte Vecchio as Dusan Vlahovic gets set to join Juventus.

The striker was wanted by Arsenal in this window and his club confirmed offers from England had arrived.

It's believed the other was from Newcastle, who were prepared to offer the Serie A top-scorer a massive £160,000 per week after tax, according to Italian reports..

Much to the frustration of Fiorentina though Vlahovic and his representatives would not come to the table - until an offer from Juve arrived.

The Turin club are the Viola 's most hated rivals, with violence in Piazza Savonarola when Roberto Baggio made the move north.

Fiorentina have already sold Federico Bernardeschi and Federico Chiesa to Juve in recent years, so the reaction to the Serb making the move was furious.

Banners insulting Vlahovic were put up near the Stadio Artemio Franchi, while his house was placed under police surveillance.

Former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi criticised the move and the mayor of Florence accused him of "trampling" on the loyalty of fans.

Owner Rocco Commisso has not escaped the city's ire either, with a banner depicting him as a clown hung on the Ponte Vecchio.

The bridge is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world but some enterprising fans clearly found time to hang a banner.

Commisso has previously slammed the Angelli family, who own Juventus, and accused supporters of being ungrateful for his investment.

Vlahovic is set to move for a fee which could eventually rise to £63million, with his medical expected to take place on Saturday.
