Dundrennan rugby star Stafford McDowall receives sixth cap against Fiji

Stafford McDowall received his sixth Scotland cap on Saturday.

The Dundrennan star came off the bench as Gregor Townsend’s side opened the Famous Grouse Nations Series with a 57-17 win over Fiji.

McDowall, who plays for Glasgow Warriors and came through the ranks at Stewartry, replaced Darcy Graham for the final 14 minutes.

Scotland are in action again on Sunday when they face South Africa at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

Also in the squad with McDowall is Corsock’s Alex Craig, who plays for Scarlets.
