Dundee United make Dylan Levitt admission amid Manchester United contract uncertainty

Manchester United youngster Dylan Levitt will be a ‘transfer priority’ for Dundee United this summer, although they will face plenty of competition to sign the midfielder.

Levitt has impressed while on loan with the Scottish Premiership club this season and has been tipped to extend his stay at Tannadice. The 21-year-old’s future at Old Trafford is up in the air, with his contract with United set to expire at the end of the season.

The Wales international will not be short of offers should he leave United. Dundee United boss Tam Courts has already identified Levitt as a target ahead of the summer transfer window as the Terrors aim to turn his loan into a permanent move.

Courts is wary his side won’t be the only team interested in the young midfielder. Nevertheless, he hopes Levitt can become a key figure in his team moving forward.

“You can see why the Dundee United fans rate Dylan,” Courts said. “You only have to look at the big moments he has in a United shirt.

“The stats tell you when Dylan is in the team you have a higher chance of performing well and winning. He seems really content at home at the club and he is stepping up at a crucial stage in the season.

“That is something Tony Asghar is seeing as a priority. I wouldn’t say there have been regular discussions but there have certainly been discussions happening.

“We would want to keep Dylan if it was possible and to build a team around him. Hopefully, that is something we can make a reality but at the same token, you realise the potential he has.
