Dull Rangers transfers won't have Celtic quaking but what underpins them offers reason for optimism – Keith Jackson

Let's be honest, they’re not exactly the kind of signings which will have the rest of Scotland - and Celtic in particular - quaking in their boots.

Joe Rothwell and Max Aarons struggled to get a game at Bournemouth. Manny Fernandez was playing in the third tier of English football at Peterborough last season. Thelo Aasgaard would have been preparing for a stint in that same division had he not bailed out on relegated Luton Town.

Nasser Djiga has put pen to paper on a season long loan deal having failed to get any significant game time at Wolves following his £10m move from Red Star Belgrade.

And Lyall Cameron has been signed on a free transfer from Dundee, albeit on a pre-contract which was signed before Russell Martin ’s appointment as Philippe Clement’s successor.
