Duk faces Aberdeen injury sweat ahead of Hearts clash amid fears top scorer could miss rest of the SEASON

Duk heads a number of high-profile injury concerns that Aberdeen have ahead of their potential third-placed decider against Hearts.

The Dons’ main man this season limped off in the second half of Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Hibs. The in-demand striker, who has 18 goals this season, went for a ball over the top and pulled up holding the back of his hamstring before he was replaced second later. It is a major concern for boss Barry Robson ahead of Saturday’s trip to Tynecastle, with the Dons heading south with a five point advantage over their rivals.

The Aberdeen medical team are assessing the situation and the hope is that Duk has caught it early enough, rather than have caused more serious damage that could leave him sidelined for the season. Aberdeen weren’t at their best and had to dig in for their point against Hibs, with Robson’s first-team dressing room now looking like the walking wounded. Jonny Hayes and Ylber Ramadani were both seen limping quite heavily at the final whistle.

Robson confirmed: “When you see Duk coming off with a slight hamstring problem and I saw Jonny a wee bit and we had to make lots of subs.” Defender Angus MacDonald also took a sore one in the game. It took him a good few minutes to get over the injury but he was able to finish the game.
