Dubai-inspired restaurant from international social star to open in Spinningfields

A new restaurant and shisha bar inspired by Dubai will be opening in Manchester from international social influencer and boxer Abdu Rozik.

Following a successful launch in Leeds at the start of the year, Middle Eastern restaurant Habbibi is set to open its doors within the XYZ building in Spinningfields in March.

Abdu, 20, has more than eight million followers on Instagram alone and is perhaps best known for an appearance during KSI and Tommy Fury’s boxing match in Manchester last year. Born in Tajikistan, he is also reportedly the world’s smallest professional boxer and singer at 3ft tall.

On its website, Habbibi, which also counts British DJ and producer Tom Zanetti as a partner, is described as being a ‘haven for food enthusiasts’ with a menu featuring a ‘fusion of global flavours inspired by [Abdu’s] extensive international journeys’.

Dishes served at the Leeds restaurant include grilled sea bass, beef fillet medallion, Greek salads, lamb burgers and chicken kabsa. There are also extensive shisha, dessert and cocktail menus, featuring the likes of the Habbibi Cosmo and the Dreaming Dubai, which features Malfy Pink gin, Campari and Italicus liqueur with lemon, syrup and lychee juice.

A lavish launch party of the Leeds restaurant was attended by the likes of Krept and Konan and Dan Osbourne, and also received well wishes prior to its opening from the likes of Tyson Fury and Joey Essex.
