Drivers face six-mile queues after 'seven-vehicle' M60 crash

Drivers faced long delays on the M60 ahead of rush hour following a 'seven-vehicle crash' near Stockport. One lane was closed on the M60 clockwise between junctions 27 at Portwood and one for the Stockport Pyramid.

National Highways said motorists faced queues of 30 minutes, tailing back for six miles. A National Highways spokesperson posted on X: "Lane 3 (of 3) is closed on the #M60 clockwise between J27 and J1 near #Stockport due to a multi-vehicle collision.

"Recovery is en route. There are delays of 30 min above normal journey time with 6 miles congestion."

Traffic was tailing back as far as junction 23 for Ashton, according to Inrix. Traffic cameras also showed delays on the anticlockwise carriageway approaching the scene.

The collision is believed to have involved seven vehicles. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. All lanes have since reopened.
