Dragons' Den star Hilary Devey 'leaves no money in her will'

Former Dragons' Den star Hilary Devey CBE is said to have left not a single penny in her will, despite having an estimated fortune of around £80 million.

The Bolton-born businesswoman and TV personality died aged 65 in June 2022 while at her holiday home in Marrakesh, Morocco. However, just over a year after her tragic death, the contents of her will have reportedly been released.

Devey had been battling a long illness, with many of her former co-stars sharing emotional tributes to her after her death.

But despite her massive estimated fortune, it appears she has only left material objects including jewellery to those closest to her, reports the Daily Mirror.

The Daily Mail reports that in Devey's will, which she reportedly made in 2021, she left her famous diamond cross to her pal Audrey Mulligan and her personal effects to her son, publicist and lawyer, who acted as trustees.

It's claimed that the three could distribute the effects the way she had detailed in a letter to them, however, this will not be made public.

While Devey may have been successful in her own right, her life in the North West while growing up was far from that she later enjoyed. As a child, she reportedly came face to face with bailiffs, who removed goods from her family home after her dad Arthur Brewster's central heating company filed for bankruptcy.

But this only spurred Devey on as she went on to launch her own business pallet company, founded from the sale of her home and car.
