DP World Tour set to stop LIV Golf rebels from playing at the Scottish Open

The DP World Tour will prevent LIV Golf rebels from playing at this year’s Scottish Open.

The event, which takes place at the Renaissance Club in East Lothian and boasts £6.5million in prize money, gets underway on 7 July.

In contrast, the DP World Tour have yet to officially announce their position despite having recently signed a partnership with their PGA equivalent which will see the Scottish Open offer ranking points on both tours.

It’s possible the DP World Tour could use their role as Europe’s Ryder Cup organisers to stop LIV Golf rebels from featuring in the biennial contest.

The Scottish Open is set to host a number of top players this year including Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, Justin Rose and Collin Morikawa.

He said: ‘We’ve played on the European Tour in Saudi Arabia over a number of years and the event has been a big event, it’s had a
