Dover Athletic boss Andy Hessenthaler looks ahead to 'entertaining' National League South game at Oxford City

Manager Andy Hessenthaler tonight expects an entertaining match as Dover visit Oxford City.

Whites have been beaten just once in their past nine matches having drawn 1-1 at home to Chippenham in National League South on Saturday despite playing with 10 men for more than an hour after captain Lee Martin was sent off for two bookable offences in the first period.

Trailing at half-time and with a numerical disadvantage at Crabble, frontman Alfie Pavey’s second-half equaliser earned the home team a share of the spoils.

Hessenthaler said: “I’m pleased for Alfie.

“That’s one defeat in nine for us but we have a tough game against Oxford City.

“But we are unbeaten on the road in four so it should be an entertaining game.”

Oxford City, meanwhile, drew 2-2 at the weekend with Hemel.

Young midfielder George Wilkinson (foot) joins defender Tyrone Sterling (ankle), forward Noah Carney (knee) and player-assistant manager Mitch Brundle (knee) on the sidelines.

But 35-year-old Martin is available for the league clash before serving a one-game ban this weekend when Whites visit Isthmian South Central Uxbridge in the Second Round of the FA Trophy.
