Dortmund fire Rangers statement with stunning Gladbach rout but Marco Rose faces more injury misery

Borussia Dortmund bounced back from their defeat to Rangers with a stunning 6-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

But BVB boss Marco Rose was hit with another injury worry as Gio Reyna limped out early in the Bundesliga rout.

Reyna, son of former Rangers favourite Claudio and named after Rangers boss Van Bronckhorst, lasted just 27 minutes and was crestfallen as he left the field.

Goals from Marcos Reus and Donyell Malen put Dortmund in control over six first-half minutes and Marius Wolf and Youssoufa Moukoko chipped in to put some gloss on the scoreline.

Reus then made it five as Dortmund and a late Emre Can penalty put the icing on the cake as Dortmund proved they still have plenty in the tank ahead of next week's trip to Ibrox.

The astonishing win helped them keep tabs on Bayern Munich at the league summit after the reigning champions beat Greuther Furth 4-1 earlier on Sunday.

Star striker Erling Haaland was again missing from Rose's squad but he could return in time for Thursday's Europa League return leg at Ibrox.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's side earned a stunning 4-2 victory in Germany last week to put themselves on the brink of the last 16.

Strikes from James Tavernier, Alfredo Moreos, John Lundstram and an own goal from Dan-Axel Zagadou put the Premiership champions firmly in control of the play-off tie last Thursday.
