Donny van de Beek reveals why Manchester United loan exit is perfect for him

Donny van de Beek says he is feeling 'energised' after leaving Manchester United on loan in the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old joined Everton on loan last month as he looked to finally settle in the Premier League after a difficult year-and-a-half at United.

Van de Beek struggled for playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and continued to be on the periphery when Ralf Rangnick took over on an interim basis.

A month ago, United finally granted Van de Beek's wish of a loan exit, and there was plenty of interest in him from clubs all across Europe.

The former Ajax man opted to move to Everton, where he is learning from midfield maestro Frank Lampard on a daily basis, and he believes the club matches his ambitions to grow in English football.

"A new area, new players, new coach, it's like a new start," Van de Beek told Sky Sports.

"This gives me a lot of energy and, you know, if you see the way the club is on the table, they want to go up.

"Me also as a player, I want to go again to show what I can (do). I think this combination is good."
