Manchester United fans divided over Erik ten Hag and Luis Enrique after Spain boss' comments

Manchester United fans are torn between Ajax manager Erik ten Hag and Spain head coach Luis Enrique after the latter addressed the speculation surrounding his future.

With Ralf Rangnick's temporary tenure edging towards a close, the heat is being turned up on United's managerial pursuit. The Manchester Evening News understands the 52-year-old Dutchman is the preferred candidate ahead of Mauricio Pochettino, with Enrique and Julen Lopetegui outsiders for the position.

When asked about his future as Spain's head coach, Enrique made it clear he had no intentions of leaving his post in the summer. However, he didn't rule out a move to Old Trafford one day in the future.

"I will be in Qatar with Spain because I have given my word and there is nothing that makes me more excited than representing my country in the World Cup. Later, we'll see.

"And even more so with this national team and with this federation. I can say it louder, but not more clearly. I'm where I want to be".

With Ten Hag in the picture and Enrique teasing a potential arrival after the World Cup, United fans are divided. Here's how they reacted on Twitter as some maintained their support for the Eredivisie-winning tactician.

However, a number of supporters were hopeful that he was leaving the door slightly ajar for a future move. There were even cries for Rangnick to extend his stay as temporary boss for the Spaniard to enter to fray after the World Cup.
