Domenico Tedesco insists Rangers must 'open up' as he identifies two danger men but defies Ibrox fear factor

Leipzig boss Domenico Tedesco insists his men have nothing to fear as they prepare to face another epic Ibrox European night.

The Germans drew first blood in the semi-final showdown after Angelino’s late strike finally found a way through Rangers' stubborn defensive efforts.

But they still have to survive another 90 minutes in the frenzied Glasgow cauldron before the can book their place in the final in Seville.

However, Tedesco insists his side will relish marching out to face the pumped up Govan crowd.

The Leipzig gaffer said: “We are not looking forward with fear, but happiness.

“It’s a pleasure to play in such stadiums with great atmosphere.

“I think Ibrox is special and we are happy to be there in one week.”

Rangers lined-up in an ultra-cautious 5-3-2 shape but it was no surprise to Tedesco, who praised his men for keeping cool as they sought out a winner.

He said: “We expected it like this. Playing like this was one option for Rangers.

“When teams come here to Leipzig they try to defend deep and compact and you have to handle this.

“It’s very important not to lose the head.

“With Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo they have good guys and Ibrox can be a different game.

“If they play like this it’s 0-0 and they need a goal so they have to open up.”
