“Doesn't often get to a point...” – Journalist hints that major Liverpool exit could be on cards
The future of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been thrown into doubt by journalist Dean Jones following protracted talks over a new contract.
Salah’s existing deal is set to expire in the summer of 2023 and has so far been unable to agree terms during extensive negotiations with the club’s hierarchy, opening the door to a potential imminent exit.
According to SportBild’s head of football Christian Falk, Salah has informed his teammates that he wants to stay at Liverpool, but he’s yet to commit his future to the club.
The latest revelation comes after Reds manager Jurgen Klopp recently revealed that it was up to Salah whether he stayed or not after answering questions over his future earlier this month.
“Mo definitely expects this club to be ambitious,” Klopp said. “We were in the last few years, and we are.
“It’s Mo’s decision pretty much. The club did what the club can do. That’s how it is. We just have to wait for that. It’s completely fine. No rush in that situation.”

The 80-cap Egypt international has previously stated that he is not asking for ‘crazy stuff’ in the talks and that he would ‘love’ to remain at Anfield until the end of his career.
However, a final decision appears no closer to being made over the next step in Salah’s career, something that may have the Liverpool supporters worried.
Despite the prolific forward having just under 18 months left to run on his contract, this summer is likely to be the last time the Merseysiders can demand a substantial fee for their prized asset.
And Jones has stated that it’s rare that situations ‘this low’ get transformed when ‘superstar’ players are involved.
