Djed Spence starts: The predicted Nottingham Forest XI to face Sheffield United on Tuesday night

Nottingham Forest performed extremely well to pick up a 2-1 win at Bramall Lane in the first leg of their Championship play-off semi final against Sheffield United.

The Reds were devastating in transition and would have been disappointed to only take a 1-0 lead into half time on Saturday afternoon.

Steve Cooper’s men have been on an incredible journey since the Welshman took over with the Reds rock bottom of the division, and they can book their spot at Wembley Stadium with a similar performance at the City Ground on Tuesday evening.

The Blades are likely to approach the game slightly differently to how they did in the home leg, but Cooper’s men are expected to fly out of the blocks to try and kill off the tie, despite taking a one goal advantage into the encounter.

Here, we are predicting an unchanged side to take to the field in the second leg…

There are two decisions that Cooper may have to make based off of players’ fitness.

Keinan Davis returned to the side from the bench on Saturday, the Aston Villa loanee has been more crucial than Sam Surridge in the club’s promotion push, but the latter will likely keep his place due to being in better shape physically.

Ryan Yates appeared to injure his shoulder in the penultimate league fixture against Bournemouth, and the 24-year-old was visibly discomforted by it in the first leg.

The engine roomer will likely soldier on again, but Cooper may consider hooking him should the aggregate scoreline become comfortable at any point.

Cafu and Joe Lolley would be the go to men to replace him.
