The agent of Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot has confirmed that he expects his client to stay and fight for his place next season.

United struggled in all areas of the pitch this season, with goalkeeper David de Gea one of few standout players. In particular, captain Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford dropped off from their 2020/21 levels.

However, right-back was one area in which the Red Devils chopped and changed throughout the season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought to Man Utd from Crystal Palace in 2019, was the preferred choice for the first half of the season.

However, Ralf Rangnick got more of a tune out of Jose Mourinho signing Dalot and mostly opted for the Portuguese.

Doubt has subsequently emerged over the futures of the two players as new manager Erik ten Hag arrives. Nevertheless, Dalot’s agent has insisted that he sees no reason for his client to leave Old Trafford this summer.
