Dimitar Berbatov backs Manchester United to win more silverware this season

Dimitar Berbatov does not believe Manchester United's relentless fixture schedule will scupper their chances of adding more silverware to their collection before the end of the season.

United, who ended their six-year wait for a trophy by winning the Carabao Cup at Wembley last month, signed off for the international break with a 3-1 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Fulham on Sunday, booking a last four clash with Brighton & Hove Albion next month. It marked the Reds' 25th game since the campaign resumed after the World Cup, meaning they have played almost every three days in four different competitions since late-December.

Despite that gruelling schedule, United won 19 of those 25 matches, losing just twice. Erik ten Hag's side are still alive and kicking in both the FA Cup and the Europa League ahead of the final months of the campaign.

If United manage to reach the final of both of those competitions they will play another 19 matches before the end of the season. Despite the possibility of a demanding schedule, former United striker Berbatov, believes United will relish the prospect.

"To be honest, I don't think so," Berbatov told Betfred when asked if an increased fixture list could dent their trophy hopes. "At the end of the day, and coming from a personal experience of playing for Manchester United, you're always going to have a lot of games to play and when you're in good form, you can't wait for the next game to come.

"You always want to be in all competitions and have the chance of winning silverware, and when you take the history of Manchester United into account, you always need to prepare and be ready for periods like this.
