Dillian Whyte's trainer sends warning to Tyson Fury after recent battles

Dillian Whyte’s trainer Xavier Miller is confident they have the perfect blueprint to take down Tyson Fury.

Whyte is seeking to become the first man to beat ‘The Gypsy King’ and take his WBC heavyweight title when the two collide at Wembley Stadium on 23 April.

‘The Body Snatcher’ has had to wait patiently for his world title shot and was absent from last week’s press conference, instead opting to remain in Portugal where his training camp is based.

Assessing Whyte’s threat, Miller insists the Brixton heavyweight has the tools to become the new champion, suggesting Fury ‘has been in a few wars of late’ that may have slowed him down.

‘It will be interesting because he hasn’t faced anything quite like Dillian Whyte,’ Miller said.

‘Whyte can do a lot of different things in the ring, he is very versatile; aggressive, power in both hands, good counter puncher, good body puncher, so Tyson would have a lot to deal with.

‘At the same time Tyson’s very tall, can box at long range. It’s a fight I’ve always wanted for Dillian ever since I became head trainer.’

‘The truth is, Tyson is the number one guy, so that’s the one I want to beat. I want to beat the genuine guy for a genuine world title.

‘I’ve got the same mentality as Dillian, I want the tough fights, the best fights, and I want Dillian to be a world champion.

‘Tyson’s been in a few wars of late and when you get your shot you’ve got to take it and it looks like our shot is coming. We’re going to take it.’

Whyte has lost twice in his 30-fight career – his domestic showdown with Anthony Joshua back in 2015 and his shock knockout defeat to Alexander Povetkin in 2019 which he avenged at the first time of asking.
