Dillian Whyte's single MMA appearance ended with massive 13-second knockout

Dillian Whyte will be returning to the ring later this month for the nail-biting WBC heavyweight championship against Tyson Fury.

It is the perfect time to recap where Whyte originally started before his transition into boxing.

Initially, Whyte was a professional kick-boxer and became the two-time British heavyweight champion, including the BIKMA British super-heavyweight title and the European K1 belt.

He was number one ranked for five consecutive years in his specific weight category (95kg+) and only lost one of his 21 matches in the ring.

After switching to MMA, Whyte featured just once in the cage despite an absolute masterclass of a debut in 2008.

Aged 19 at the time, Whyte was on the James McSweeney vs Neil Grove undercard where he annihilated Mark Stroud to become victorious after just 12 seconds into making his debut.

An overhand right to the chin knocked Stroud completely out. Whyte followed up with another heavy shot as the referee had no choice but to halt the match.

Despite such a convincing start to his MMA career, Whyte has never entered the cage since.

However, it is not as though Whyte made the entirely wrong decision, is it?

The Body Snatcher has held several heavyweight titles and is ranked as the world’s fifth best active heavyweight boxer by The Ring magazine. With a knockout percentage of 68%, he has been ranked among BoxRec’s top ten heavyweight’s since 2016 too.

It took Dillian Whyte just 12 seconds to iron out his opponent on his MMA debut
