'Destroy' - Leeds United fans pile in ahead of Aston Villa clash

Leeds United fans are hoping Marcelo Bielsa's can get the better of Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa side in the Premier League tonight (Wednesday, 8pm kick-off).

The teams go head-to-head at Villa Park as they return to action following the winter break.

Villa are 11th in the table, having won 1-0 at Everton last time out on January 22.

Leeds are four points behind in 15th place. They lost 1-0 at home to Newcastle United before the break, having won their previous two league fixtures.

Bielsa has had to deal with injury problems, not least to star striker Patrick Bamford, who remains sidelined by a foot problem.

However, the Leeds faithful were in defiant mood on social media ahead of this evening's showdown. Here's what some of them had to say...

"3 points incoming!"

"If I don't see Tyrone Mings in tears by the end of FT - We haven't done our job properly. Destroy them lads."

"Please finish them."

"Come on boys, let's get the win."

"Somebody score a thunder in the last minute. All I ask."

"Please win, I'm begging you."

"Two Brazilian against each other on the wing."

"Away day Wednesday, Villa Park under the lights…. Come on Leeds."

"Leeds next 2 games are massive, 2 wins against Villa and Everton and we will pull right clear of the mess at the bottom of the Pl, In Bielsa we trust MOT."

"Half a day at work then Villa away come on Leeds we need a good performance tonight."

"Leeds go 1 point behind Villa with a win, mental considering the perception that Villa are having a good season."

"I’m going for 1-0 Leeds. It’s difficult to call it tbh but I just have a feeling this sort of game may suit our style. Time will tell of course."

"Here we go again Leeds."

"Half day at work for lufc away days!!
