Destiny Udogie gives Premier League hint amid Tottenham summer transfer links

Tottenham have already welcomed six new players to N17 this summer, but they may not be done yet. Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence all followed Ivan Perisic in signing deals for Spurs.

All six have already made their first appearance in a Tottenham shirt, with Antonio Conte handing them their debuts during pre-season. The summer was also a success for the Lilywhites during their pre-season matches, where they won two, drew one and lost one.

Now preparations have begun, as Spurs get ready to welcome Southampton to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday. However behind the scenes, there are still players being linked with a move to the north London club.

Destiny Udogie is a name that has cropped up for the Lilywhites in the past. The 19-year-old is currently playing at Udinese, making 35 Serie A appearances last season, with eight goal contributions.

The Italian's main position is as a left midfielder, but Udogie also featured at left-back and in central midfield during the 2021/22 campaign. Conte has already brought Ivan Perisic to play on the left flank, adding to the options he already has in Ryan Sessegnon and Sergio Reguilon.

The latter looks set to move on this summer, with the Spaniard being left out of pre-season. During his time at Inter Milan, Conte transformed Perisic from a winger into a wing-back.

If Udogie was to make the move to the capital, the Spurs boss could opt to do the same. However, he may also see him adapting and playing in a different role, which the 53-year-old has managed to do with many players throughout his managerial career so far.
