Desbiens stops 26 shots as Montreal Victoire shut out Vancouver Goldeneyes
Ann-Renee Desbiens stopped 26 shots to lead the Montreal Victoire past the Vancouver Goldeneyes 1-0 on Sunday in the Professional Women's Hockey League.
Desbiens registered her third career PWHL shutout.
Nicole Gosling had the lone goal for Montreal (4-2-0-4, 16 points). Gosling scored at 12:17 of the second period, her first of the season.
Emerance Maschmeyer made 25 saves for Vancouver (3-1-1-7, 12 points).
Katerina Mrazova's shootout goal earned the Ottawa Charge a 2-1 win over the Boston Fleet in Professional Women's Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.
Fanuza Kadirova and Brianne Jenner also scored in the shootout for Ottawa (3-4-0-5, 17 points) while Hannah Brandt and Jamie Lee Rattray replied in the shootout for league-leading Boston (7-0-2-2, 23 points).
Susanna Tapani scored in regulation for Boston while Jenner replied for Ottawa.
Tapani opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the season at 3:01 of the first period. Jenner tied the score with her seventh at 6:48 of the third.
Boston goalie Aerin Frankel stopped 17 shots while Ottawa's Sanni Ahola made 31 saves.
