Derek McInnes the 'worst ever' as Rangers fans secretly celebrate Celtic triumph on the Hotline

A rampant win for Rangers couldn't have been timed any better as far as the board are concerned.

On the eve of their AGM, Philippe Clement and his team finally delivered a convincing league performance, smashing Kilmarnock 6-0 to make it three wins on the spin. It meant a slightly easier ride for the board and Philippe Clement at the Clyde Auditorium, and it reignited some title hopes on the Hotline.

Joe Graham, Garrowhill, said: "At last the magic wand has been waved for Rangers domestically in their 6-0 win at home to Kilmarnock. It was a very impressive win and signs look good now for a winning run of games to come. Hagi was instrumental on assists to start the goal run and has settled the balance in the final third. Keep this performance up and we won’t be far away come end of season. We are not out of the title race yet and the League Cup Final looks on now."

Gordon Blackwell, Glasgow, said: "Rangers' best performance of season spoiled by the manager making five substitutions and killing the game. Should and could have been 10. Five subs, yet Diomande still on the park at the end. Unbelievable."

A sarcastic Arrin Geddes, Irvine, wrote in: "What a great night for the Rangers. They double their goal tally for the season and the champions win at Pittodrie to give them some hope of second place. Maybe their AGM won’t be the pantomime the people thought it would be."

It certainly ended up an easier grilling than the board might have received two weeks ago given how recent results and performances have improved. As for sorry Kilmarnock? Yikes...
